As we all know that physical fitness is very important for us but do you ever think why? Why work so hard to be fit, what is the need for physically fit. Hence in this article, I will be trying to show you every aspect of physical fitness and tell you why we need to be physically fit. Before reading I will suggest you read my earlier post about COMPONENTS OF PHYSICAL FITNESS because it will make you clear about what is physical fitness and what factors decide your physical fitness. Below I will be talking about both physical and mental benefits of physical fitness.

PHYSICAL BENEFITS

1) CARDIOVASCULAR & RESPIRATORY IMPROVEMENTS:

• Cardiac muscles form and surround our heart hence if you strengthen it your heart will also become stronger. A physically fit person has strong cardiac muscles.

• A stronger heart pumps a greater volume of blood decrease in resting heart rate.

• In a fit person, there are far more red blood cells than others since the blood can carry a greater amount of oxygen to different body parts.

• Doing workout will increase the strength of your lungs and made them strong.

2) LOWER HEALTH RISKS:

Physical fitness lowers many health risks which may cause many problems.

• It reduces the risk of heart diseases like heart attacks, heart failure etc.

• Type-2 diabetes, which is very dangerous diseases can be resisted by a fit body.

• It also reduces the risk of metabolic syndrome.

• Cancer is the most spreading disease and it may also cause death, but if you are physically fit then there are fewer chances to get affected by it.

• Since physical fitness protects you from many diseases then ultimately it will increase your life span.

Also As physical fitness decreases the health risks it will save your money because if you got any of the above diseases you will have to pay a big amount for the treatment and also your body will never recover fully.

3) INCREASED METABOLIC RATE:

• Metabolism is the process of burning calories thus metabolic rate is the at which you burn calories.

• when you do physical activities to be fit, at that time your body will burn a good amount of calories which increase your metabolic rate.

• At the time of resting after a physical workout, your metabolic rate will also be high because the energy is needed to convert glycogen into glucose and replenish ATP.

4) PHYSICAL BALANCE:

If you are physically fit then your body will also be more physically balanced.

• Sometimes you have noticed that you cannot balance your body in some difficult situations like standing on one leg or many other activities and ultimately you fell down. It is due to improper physical balance and can improve by doing physical exercises.

•  This can be improved by the balance, coordination and muscle-strengthening activities.

IMPROVED BONE HEALTH:

• Bones give shape to our body and also makes out body strong thus strong bones are must to live a good life.

• With age, our bones start becoming weaker hence by doing physical activities we can resist this.

BETTER BODY SHAPE:

• At present-day a good body really matters. People are judged on the basis of body shape.

• If you are physically fit then you will have a good body shape.

• A fit person will have proper weight & height according to age and genders.

• Also, it makes your muscles like biceps, triceps and abs.

MENTAL HEALTH:

1) INCREASED FEELING OF WELLBEING:

• If you are physically fit then you will have a proper amount of secretion of hormones.

• An adequate amount of endorphin and enkephalin released improves your mood and makes you feel happy.

• It also makes you feel energetic.

• since if you feel happy and energetic you can do your work easily and it also raises the quality of your life.

GOOD SLEEP:

• Sometimes when you do little more hard work you had a good sleep at night similarly when you are fit and doing workout regularly you will have a good sleep.

• You will fall asleep faster as soon as you go to bed.

• You will have a deeper sleep at night and fewer chances of the night wake-ups.

BETTER BRAIN FUNCTIONING:

• If you are physically fit then it will also affect your mental health positively.

• Regular workout will reduce fatigue.

• It will make your brain more alert and sharp.

• physical activities improve blood circulation to the brain which causes sharp thinking.

Your brain will be more focused and concentrated if you are physically fit.
